2027 Kia Telluride Redesign: A Bold New Look Revealed
Kia is gearing up to unveil a significant redesign for its popular three-row SUV, the Telluride, with the 2027 model year marking the start of its second generation. Ahead of its official debut, Kia has released initial images, offering a tantalizing preview of the changes in store.
The most noticeable alteration is a shift away from the current model's softer lines. The 2027 Telluride boasts a more robust and assertive stance. Distinctive triple vertical LED daytime running lights adorn the front, establishing a unique Kia signature and differentiating it from its Hyundai Palisade counterpart. The rear lighting will echo this design with a similar vertical LED arrangement. The automaker highlights the new triangular creases on the hood and fenders, drawing inspiration from the Rocky Mountains – a fitting homage to the Colorado city after which the SUV is named. This represents a stark departure from the 2026 Telluride, where the hood seamlessly flowed into the rounded front fenders.
A "Floating Roof" Design
Another noteworthy design element is the introduction of a "floating roof." This effect is achieved by a pronounced body line positioned just above the door openings, complemented by a blacked-out D-pillar. The model showcased in the teaser images also features a sizable rear glass panel, designed to enhance the amount of natural light reaching the second and third rows of seats. However, it remains unclear whether this feature will be standard across the entire Telluride range or reserved for the higher trim levels (the 2026 model limits the dual power sunroof to upper trims).
Further details about the 2027 Kia Telluride are expected to emerge leading up to its official unveiling. Kia's press conference at Automobility LA 2025 (the L.A. Auto Show) on November 20 promises to reveal all. Industry observers are hopeful that Kia has carefully examined the 2026 Hyundai Palisade, integrating some of its beneficial features into the new Telluride.
